How Do I Tell When It's Time To Replace The Clutch? Posted by BAAB [Email] (#1214) [Profile/Gallery] (more from BAAB) on Tue, 18 Mar 2008 13:20:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
For the last several months now, I have thought it was time to replace the clutch, but I keep adjusting the clutch pedal free movement, and it keeps on pulling just fine. I would like to take it on a 12-hour round trip tomorrow, but I would like to know if there is something that I can look at or test to see if the clutch needs to be replaced NOW! It still pulls just fine, but the clutch pedal has to come almost all the way up before the car starts to move, and the pedal movement to engage the clutch is not very much now. The free movement adjustment screw (the square one) is almost all the way in now. Is that my sign that it's now time to replace the clutch? Or can it run like this for a long time?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
