And I need some help.
The Good: I bought the beautiful two-tone 67 95 V4 from Robert Omea last weekend. Drove it from Portland to Seattle, back to Portland, then all the way home to SF, conquering mountains at 70mph. It ran perfect until a couple hiccups on the summit, which I attributed to the altitude, especially as it never really did it again all the way home. There was a couple moments after one gas stop where it would day every time I stopped, but it didn't repeat this either any other time after that on the trip home.
The bad: Got it home, drove it around the city no prob. Then a day later, it kept dying at every stop, but would start right up and take off, and then eventually, after about 15 minutes, it would start to idle fine at stops. The next day, it wouldn't start. As if a dead battery. Nothing was left on at all. It tries to turn over but can't. The battery is brand new and was dropped in by Robert immediately prior to my trip home from the NW. All the interior lights and guage lights work (Yes, the interior lights work in this thing!! Even the damn clock!!!) so it's got juice, but it acts as if the starter is killing it until it won't try at all. Let it sit for a bit, come back out, it's got a tiny bit more gusto, but it almost immediately fades away long before it can start the engine. So I jump the car, and it's starts up fine, drives around a bit and all is good. I turned it off, and immediately attempted to start back up, and it fires up. Come back ten minutes later, and it's dead.
It's basically doing this same cycle of things since. I read the post about other peoples V4 doing the same thing and changing the distributor condesor seemed to solve the issue. Does that look like what I got going on here? Any other suggestions?
Thanks guys! I'm sure I'll be on here a lot from here on out.
