Congrats on the 95!! I owned a '71 for many years and it was a very handy car!
On the Pertronix, that seems to be a strange failure mode. Usually, a component inside the unit fails hard (the transister blows out) and they're done- not sensitive to temp.
Seems like the Pertronix gets a bad rap these days from some, while others have no problems. Two things I know they don't like- leaving the ignition on for minutes at a time, and high voltage. For the latter, make sure your regulator is not allowing charging in excess of 14V.
As to the Weber, I assume you mean the 34ICH single barrel. I've read of heat problems with them in hot climates, but it takes a while for the heat soak problem to manifest itself. It doesn't happen with 10 minutes of idling in the yard or a short drive.
I think you may have a fuel delivery problem. Change your fuel filter and cut it apart to see if its full of junk. Note that the fuel pump (the standard mechanical one) has a screen on it that can clog up with junk from the tank. The original ones have screws around the outside and can be taken apart and cleaned. I have a 96 that has some junk in the tank and I run two filters- one under the rear seat BEFORE the fuel pump, and the other in the normal spot AFTER the fuel pump. As soon as I sense a sputter, I change the first filter and the problem goes away for another six months. One day, I'll pull the tank...
Just my guess, thousands of miles away...
