my experience is that the tail pipe adapter does not work very well. You get too much air from the outside washing in and ruining the readings. It is worse when you drive.
Best thing is to install a bung....weld it in. as close to the merge in the manifold as possible. When you are done using it, put a blank plug in it.
The Innovate is nice, but can be a pain to use. you really need to have something that records data as you drive and that gets expensive on the Innovate.
My favorite is the Daytona-Sensors WEGO IV. Great unit, very accurate. 2 hours data recording. All in one unit for $400. This is the way to go.
I love mine. look it up....google it.
AFR is the only way to adjust those carbs
