The 99t is a funny thing. When my wife first bought it for me, I would drive it around the block (I live an a fairly unpopulated area with lots of good twisty roads)It was a blast. Lots of fun with the long turbo lag and the manual steering. It was like a little race car. I decided I would drive it everyday when the auto crapped out in one of my 900's ( I am switching it to a 5spd, but these projects take me forever)At least untill the conversion was done.
Day 1- lots of fun, never had the 99t to highway speed before. The tires were brand new, and the front end is fairly new, the car was a dream to drive. I had it over 100! It was lots of fun.
Day 2- I have to do a K turn to get out of my driveway everymorning. It was much harder in the 99
Day 3- I came down with a cold that lasted a week. I cursed that damn blower motor and heater valve for 35 min of misery everyday on way to work.
Day 4- spilled my coffee on me doing the k turn.
Day 5- I forget days 5-14, but. . .
Day 14- I bought a 84 900t 5spd from a friend for $500. The price inculeded another parts car ( I try to part a few saabs out every year, and a sweet momo saab steering wheel for my convertable.
I want to keep the rack, hopefully I will forget the 14 days of hell and enjoy the car like I used to. 100 miles of pleasure every year.
