I had these thoughts. The engine compartment of my 1986 Saab 900 had open spaces under the engine where air (that had run through the radiator) could flow out. My 1969 Saab 95 has a flat structural frame under the rear of the engine and trans with three small holes for exhaust pipes and trans drain. Question: At speeds over 50mph does the lack of "open spaces" under and behind the engine create high pressure inside the engine comparetment (caused by air trying to escape somewhere) with the result being deminished air-flow going thru the radiator? What do you think?
