I am almost certain the fronts will swap, the rears may be a little different as the 99 used different trailing arms/shock set up until 1978. You still might be able to fit springs from a 900 but you may need custom rubber mounts to make them fit correctly.

With the rear suspension (and the front for that matter)your best bet is to swap the whole suspension, brakes and all with the suspension from a late model 900. I beilieve that all classic 900 suspension systems are interchangable with the 99, although you will run into some difficulty with early 99s (pre 72) and with drive shafts and the like. Also bewarned in 88? the wheel stud patterns changed and the 900 gained a rear handbrake requiring even more modification to fit the 99. But I think it would be a very worthwhile upgrade.
