I would very much love to keep my 99s unfortunatley being young and foolish I have not yet bought a property to keep my 99s. As my landlord keeps reminding me, I do not have room to keep spare cars, particularly ones that are not running.

As for my 77 EMS I am not too sad to see it go. The body in knackered (full of rust and dodgey repairs) and the gearbox in similar nick (pops out of all gears). At least i can say it is leaving my ownership in better nick than when I got it having been licenced, partly rewired and tidied up (painted grill, mirrors and wipers) And the car is going back to my mechanic (as a part trade) who sold the car to me in the first place.

I will regret letting go of the 72 99 but the damage is too great and if repaired it will never be the same (cut n shut). I am unable to justify imposing on a friend to store it for me indefinately. You are more than welcome to take the body free of charge, but I suspect (I know!) the shipping will be prohibitive (about $700 australian to Vic)

I think I have been very fortunate in having owned two very nice 99s (99T 5 door) and my 72 99, particularly when I am still relatively young. And I will do it again in the future.

What I will miss the most I think is that wonderfull gear change the 99 4spd has. Even my stuffed EMS can be almost flat shifted at 5500rpm with only a blip of the clutch and barely a crunch.
