Are you referring to the tool that is used to keep the clutch depressed in order to gain the necessary clearance to remove it? If so, then do this: While holding the clutch pedal down, stuff a length of ignition cable between the radial spring fingers in the clutch and the clutch housing. When the pedal is released, the clutch will remain depressed, giving you just enough clearance to lift it out once the shaft has been removed. I always did it this way with my old 99, and I never lost any fingers from a gimmicky tool that could slip off.
