Classic 900 to a classic 96?

I walk to work everyday. One day I noticed, gathering dust in a neighbor's covered driveway, behind a tacky conversion van, a little red car. It bugged me, because I thought it looked familiar. A couple of days later I got a better look at it and sure enough, it is a red 96. The body, trim, and glass look perfect, but that is as close as I got. Now I love Saabs and currently own two that are daily drivers, and I am taken with the 96. So, if I do screw up my courage and knock on the door to ask about the car, what am I getting in to? I'm not sure if it is the v-4 or the rarer 2-stroke. I'm not sure what to look for, and I am not at all sure about what I should expect or what I should pay for a good condition car... after all, I live in Oklahoma and Saabs, old or new, don't grow on trees out here. Anyhow, if anyone could drop me a line I would appreciate it. Thanks
