900 fuel pump in a 99?

I have a '75 99 with fuel delivery problems - I can't get gas to spray out of the injectors. I've replaced the fuel filter, so no clog there. Checking the voltage across the electric fuel pump, I'm getting only 10.1 volts, so I want to swap it out. I have an old one from a wreck, an '84 900 - will this work? I see that the part numbers are different. Do they operate at a different pressure or something? I don't want to spend $430 on a new pump if I can avoid it. Thanks...
