Hi David. If you were going to swap the entire front supension as well, just remember the driveshafts won't be the same from the '72 and the '77. I have several 99s from '69 to '76 and a lot of these brake parts are just annoyingly different - One year is different to all the others but I'm not sure which... Using the later parts is a good move though as you can use some parts common to 99s and 900s that are still available. A reasonable rule is, if the bits bolt on fine, then they're OK to use - Saab didn't change parts unless thay had a reason so some bits will fit lots of years. I wouldn't panic about the brake booster being different, although the later one is a bit more powerful you'll likely not notice if you were driving it before with the earlier brakes. I believe that the rear caliper rebuild kit is the same as a Volvo... And front brake hoses are the same length as a Ford Escort Mk1.
