SAAB 9-3 shutters when starting

I have been having intermittant problems with my SAAB 9-3(YR 99, 104K Miles) when I start the ignition. The car seems to shutter, but not idle generally. First few times I drove it like that for a bit, the brakes seemed weary, and after enough push on the accelerator the engine would kick into the normal mode. Since then when it happens (~1-2 month for a year now, increasingly worse), I just leave it in park and floor the accelerator and once I can feel the engine stabalize (just 2-3 push on the gas pedal usually), the car is ok to go. When it occurs it feels like one of the cylinders didn't fire, but then after pushing the gas it feels fine. This is intermittant and I have not been able to reproduce this with technician present so no one seems to be able to look into it.
Does anyone have any input as to what this could be and how much time I have to continue to address the syptoms this way? Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thank You.
