I just took a spin in one the other night at my local dealer (dirito Bros. walnut creek) Overall it's not a bad car but it just doesn't feel quite like a saab. The fit and finish are nice and the cabin controls are great. I love the old school climate control knobs it reminded me on being in a c900. The clutch is Jap but once i got the hang of it it felt easy to creep forward a lights w/o getting launched into traffic like my areo does. the power band is right one the money and made for good sport driving on the highway and around town. I drove a WRX a few weeks ago and as you know it has 227 hp but the 9-3 w/its 175 hp is much better equiped to pass when you hit the throttle. The WRX just seemed to slug along in fifth till it got the rpm's up and finally started to move..best bet to pass was to down shift. The 9-3 steering is sharp and a bit too sharp for my taste it felt like i was going to roll the car when ripping exit ramps at 40 mph. Maybe the areo version will be better w/ stiffer susspension. The seats were my biggest complaint...felt like the head rest was trying to drive my chin into my chest and once again we have rear seats that don't fold down flat. I really miss that feature of the old saabs and wish they would work harder to bring it back.

Like I said in the begining Overall it's not bad car. The look will probably grow on me as the NG900 did..with time.

Sorry for the rant,

Bill
ps my test ride had 16" wheels
