We had a great showing with about 40 members dropping in. I think the place to start in describing this meet at Burlingame Saab is with the "raffle". Burlingame Saab put out a floor full of NOS rosewood dashes, road wheels, steering wheels, carpet sets, and a host hats, Saab paraphernalia, and free service credits. The most sought after item was a solitary early NOS 900 dashboard, that ended up with MikeM after a survivor-like partnership was struck. (Maybe we should televise the next reality-raffle show: I need a partnership with a member with a larger carrying capacity than my sonett!). Everyone got major dealership items to cram in the hatch. We gave out original sales literature (thank you to DirkD, who donated his collection on moving to New Zealand). We had Portobello mushrooms grilled on a 900 BBQ with all the rest of the bbq, topped by a real whipped cream birthday cake for DavidW. A big surprise was BO ENGSTROM's appearance. Bo is from Chicago (but with his accent you know not originally) and is a recognized specialist in the technical Saab setup. We all tapped into his expertise with questions. There was the usual array of lots 900s and 9000s with tricked-out set ups. We had very few vintage cars with a sonett II, a 96, and a 93 showing: WHERE ARE YOU members with cars made in trollhatten by trolls?? Let's see some of you on the road for the wine tour.
