I've had the MBC+A setup for a while now, and no problems at all with the tranny. (95, so I have the old sjoft linkage too) In fact, it feels better in first gear, I always thought stock was kind of underpowered at low RPMs, and had to tap the gas before I started. Now it slips right in, and I give it gas a little after the fact. Overall, feels great.
More power will damage your tires. When you lean on the gas, it is easy to break them loose, even in third gear. lucky for them to last 10k...
I bought the car with 80k on it, and when I took it to my local indie to get a new clutch, he said it looked like the gearbox had been replaced or messed with. So I may have some newer parts there. I put the newer saab synthetic gearbox oil in there.
Of course, you go dropping the clutch at high rpms, doing crazy batman moves, somethings going to break sooner or later. I think the suspension is the weakest link...
