I was at the Saab dealer last week, having my daughter's "new" '97 checked out and asked if I should routinely replace the clutch cable - they acted puzzled that I would ask, and said they are normally replaced when the clutch is and that they didn't see any particular problems with them that make it desirable to replace it earlier. So guess I won't replace it but figure I'll grab one from eEuro and stick it in the trunk with the old serpentine, dist cap and rotor, all the same, just so should it let go in N. Dakota she'll have a fighting chance of getting it fixed without too much delay.
<my old one lasted 55k>
BTW, re comments here about manually adjusting cable not being able to respond to the big rubber plugs changing size with heat, doesn't the stock cable adjust in only one direction - taking up play? - rather than constantly going back and forth.
