I hope I correctly understood what the problem is. This is what may have happened. There is a
small metal rod (looks like coat hanger wire) that goes from the actual door lock knob to the
power lock mechanism.
This rod has detached from the locking mechanism. When you unlock the door on the driver
side it engages the locking mechanism, but since it's detached on the passenger side door this
door doesn't unlock. But using the key on the passenger side will unlock it because that doesn't
use the locking mechanism - it's just manually unlocking the door.
As far as fixing it... I have this same problem on my door and I noticed there is a little plastic
piece attached to the end of the wire that fits into the locking mechanism. On my door, this
plastic piece has broken. The plastic can be replaced, but getting it reconnected to the locking
mechanism may be the most difficult part. It's just in an awkward spot and difficult to reach.
