Yes, the alarm system has to be replaced if you lose your last remote. All of these cars came from the factory with two remotes for just that reason, but most everyone seems to have lost one by now. I have three for mine, and each car can have up to four programmed to it at one time. Remotes are close to $100 from the dealer. Compared to that, anything on eBay is a deal. They seem to go between $30 and $40.
