Does Board Suggest Re-torqueing Head w/o reason?

I have a '98 900S 60k auto with a small amount of black dry paste near head gasket(distributor side).
I was just going to leave it alone.
Does the Collective Wisdom of the Board suggest re-torqueing the head as a type of standard maintenance or wait for wet oil showing itself? Or is that too late to do any good?
I am interested in pulling the VC on my 2.3 n/a but I am not chomping at the bit either.
Thanks,
-Peter
P.S.
3" air-box mod
short-belt mod
Changed coolant and brake fluid
Ran 2 A-Rx treatments
Front rotors and all 4 pads
Fixed trunk leaks
etc....
All with the help of the Board! Thanks everyone
