as i was driving my beloved '95 900s through the country roads of NE ohio two days ago, i smacked into an 8 point buck. after landing on my windshield, he rolled up to the roof before being thrown to the road as i braked. the good news is that i'm fine. the bad news is the SAAB is not.

the car is totaled, with the blue book value being $4400 and the claims adjuster stopping his estimate at $4300 before even getting to the caved in roof. i have the standard options of selling the car to the insurance company and buying it back for $500 and fixing it, or taking the $4400 and being on my merry way. i just put $1100 worth of brakes in it last week!

just some advice would be welcome. i'm just out of college with a job, but am dreading a new car payment. as someone who loved his SAAB, any suggestions on a new $14000-$18000 car that would capture some of the experience? though its expensive, i will definitely be taking a look at the 9-2x.
