Thanks to all the excellent info on this board I took the plunge into DIY world and replaced my thermostat today. This was on a 99 9-3 but thought it was more relevant to this board. Had done DIY work on previous el cheapo cars but never on the Saabs.
One note, some thermo install instructions specify removing the Turbo bypass hose. I didn't and didn't feel it made it more difficult.
Now a question. I dropped one of the 10mm bolts that attach the stat housing to a bracket (hey I got one out of two in!). I can see it on the tranny but I'll never get to it. I'm sure one will hold for the time being but what are the specs on a replacement?
