Emergency (Hand) Brake cable replacement - notes

Greetings folks -
Replaced the emergency brake cable today as the one on my '96 900 Turbo (110K miles) Convertible was stretched and frayed beyond use - totally innoperative. Not a difficult replacement, but the prep work was extensive. To replace the cable the following is required before the replacement can begin:
1. Remove heat shield above mid muffler (to gain access to the hand brake arm)
2. Remove heat shield above and to the side of the gas tank (cables run behind it)
2. Empty fuel (or run til dry)
3. Loosen both gas tank straps/remove clamps on fuel tank/two fill line hoses
4. Drop down fuel tank one foot or so in order to gain access to passenger side e-brake line.
5. Installed the Lucas aftermarket jobbie that Saabsite sells - fit perfectly.
Total prep time - 2 hours
Total cable replacement time - 15 minutes
Car not rolling down the street by itself like a scence in a bad movie - priceless!
As a note - I waited until I was replacing my exhaust to perform this task which made it ALOT easier to access each of the lines where the e-brake cables go. Also, there have been a lot of posts regarding e-brake brackets that have separated from the underside of the car. ALL of mine were intact, so I cannot comment on a resolution for this issue.
