I switched to synthetic at 120k, and the baby leaked like no tomorrow. After about a week, it stopped, and hasn't leaked a drop since. That includes 3 changes till now (I'm due as we speak). I am at 140k+ and running strong. I have no idea why things resealed...could be gasket saturation and pliability. Might be magic..who knows, it's a Saab!
Fear not my friend, synthetic will not harm anything...actually cleans things up a bit.
