I posted about a week back, (my lease on a '98 A4 1.8TQ is slowly winding down, and I would have to find an acceptable buy-out). So, first I drove an '01 9-3 SE 5 speed, very nice, good shift/clutch, way better than expected, especially following all of the negative press, not what I would call rubbery, nice interior, although I miss a center arm rest. Drive is more sedan than sport. In this regard my salesman stated that a sports suspension is an available option, although I am unable to find any info in this regard. Does an optional sports suspension exist? what are its components, and its cost? and most importantly what is its impact on the SE? Do I also want to consider Saab's sport exhaust? How loud is it? Are the hp gains noticeable? Following the SE I drove a '00 Viggen 5-door. Now that's what I was looking for, tighter more aggressive, faster and character, lots of character. It makes the SE pale by comparision. Perhaps the suspension/exhaust options narrow the gap a bit. Hopefully we can reach a workable deal, and then...I have to sell the idea to my wife. As I have the luxury of time on my side I could always wait for a deal, later, on an '01 Viggen, and gain traction control and on-star. I'd welcome your responses, Thanks in advance.I'll keep you posted
