Why the look of the new 9-3 makes me ill... (long and angry)

I'm actually worried that this thing's going to make me less happy with my present 9-3 via guilt by association!
My breakdown of what's so wrong with the prototype, aside from the obvious Saturn Sedan /Chevrolet Malibu resemblence.
1) The bottom's too tall and the the cockpit's too short - it simply doesn't evoke panoramic functionality the way the current (throwback to classic 900) high cockpit/waistline design does. Lets face it - Saabers like the 'top heavy' look: we're like Porsche 911 fans except practical (and probably poorer and/or less needful of attracting attention)
2) too goddam roundy - like the jellybean-and-melatonin-inspired Toyota adn Chevy sedans that just scream "rent me!- I'm totally inoffensive and designed for beige paint" It's quite simple, really: Saabs need inexplicably sharp angles. Lots of 'em. Especially from the side profile.
3) No Saab-ish oversized wheelwells to suggest rally-inspired long-legged suspension
4) Too narrow for its length: It lacks the beauty-via-proportionality one associates with European cars. It has that uniquely American design-by-commitee look: the side profile and head-on view seem to have been designed by two people who didn't like each other very much.
5) Hatch? Anyone, Anyone? Bueller?
At least my 'upgrade now or keep original and trade in when the new one comes out?' question is answered. I just can't beleive that glorified Buick is going to carry that sweet new (Saab-designed and Saab-epitomizing)engine.
