Seems like I remember an article in days gone by where Car & Driver had a technical run-down on traction control systems. I think I'd tend to leave it on all the time too, but I *think* I remember C&D saying they got better performance in snow with TCS turned off. I may be totally wrong remembering it this way, but it stuck in my memory because it didn't make sense why having TCS turned "off" would make a car perform better in snowy conditions.
Please don't take this as a recommendation based on my foggy memory!
