When you said it would grind in 3rd gear, was it grinding every time you tried to shift into 3rd?
Most of the time my 5 speed shifts just fine, but there have been a couple of times I tried to go into 3rd and it popped out of gear with a little bit of grinding. This has only happend 2 or 3 times over the last 3 or 4 months so I just assumed I had been a little slack on throwing the stick all the way into 3rd or had not had the clutch fully depressed. But after reading your post about the service bulletin, it made me wonder...
I'll be going in for my 20,000 service in a couple of months so it would be nice to know if I need this work done then.
