the RE730's I just had installed are much quieter then the Falken Ziex's that were on the car.
In general, large tread blocks with lots of open space will be noisy at typical road speeds. For example, look at the tread pattern of the BFG g-force T/A, and compare it to the pattern of the Yoko AVS dB that people have mentioned.
Tirerack also lists subjective ratings for tire noise in each tires owner survey.
