I think you have to accept that the car needs to be driven differently in order to enjoy it. It really is the polar opposite of the Saab philosophy, and while I love the low end grunt of a forced air engine, I can appreciate the fun of a high reving n/a engine as well. On my drive, I probably kept the engine above 6000 rpm 80% of the time, and it felt just as responsive as my Viggen. (Of course, you do have to account for the "convertible" factor making the car seem faster.) Point is, this is a fun car. It might have some drawbacks, but no doubt it'll slap a big grin on your face. What I need to do is go drive a Boxter and a Z3, for the sake of scientific comparison you understand.
BTW, I like the small cockpit. A car like that needs to wrap around you.
