Just a Xenon like bulb. The bulb use a Xenon and Halogen gas to burn hotter which produces a brighter light. I don't have an actual Xenon headlamp conversion, just a Xenon and Halogen gas filled bulb.
I could barely see the blue in the lights but I think you have to be far away. But they seem to produce a brighter white light.
Also these are perfectly interchangeable.
I can't really make a good comparison cuz I haven't compared them to my stock bulbs yet, I'll do that soon so please don't go out and buy these Xenon bulbs just on my comment.
About the Xenon bulbs being in a Regular halogen lamp, I have no idea. Right now they seem to be doing fine but they may burn out later, nobody knows, therefore I'm keeping on stock bulbs just in case.
"REM Seattle" has basically the same bulbs as I do, all the specs of the bulbs are exactly the same. I think they are the same actually. His are just Philips and mine are HELLA (same company?). He says they work great and since I have the same ones as he does, mine seem to be working pretty well also.
