For my part, I'll continue enjoying my 92 Integra GSR, like I have for the past 3 years (until my son takes it to college with him next year). Saying it's an Integra is a very apt description of one of the best handling cars on the road , even in its base model (and that is not just my humble opinion either). In terms of looks, I am amazed that a 10 year old Japanese car still draws the positive attention this one does. With the VTEC, it’s no poser either. The whole package works very well and compares nicely to the BMWs and other fabulous automobiles I find around me in Germany. Staying with or pulling away from most 3-series BMWs is not a problem, even on the open autobahn (the M3 is the exception). The same with a silver BMW Z8 that comes out in my area on nicer days. I can stay with him or pull away on the mountain roads where he can't use his power advantage. He leaves me in the straights of course. I've enjoyed that experience several times. Porsche 911s pull away no matter where we are. They are truly marvelous cars. The key for an Integra GSR or Type-R (Integra, Civic, or Accord) is keeping the motor over 5000 rpm where the power is, which it will do very willingly. Incidentally, The Saab 9-3 is great on the autobahn where it's speed and stability shine. It is faster than anything but the ultimate cars here. But the Integra will leave it behind on a mountain road or the Nuerburgring. I thought the comparison to the Hyundai Tiburon to be interesting since the my 92 GSR produces 20 more horsepower than the Tiburon and I find the Integra handling to be more balanced and precise. I have not looked at the 2002 Tiburon yet, but I hope it is better than the previous model. I may do some more research and take a look at it when I move back to the USA this summer.
