The only thing I can add being from Maine is depending on your wheels, in slush and heavy wet puddling the breaks have been known to not grab. I have heard different reasons about this. one of which is the 3 spoke wheels and exposed break housing can be sustable to large amounts of water/ slush. I am not sure if that is factual or not. You do panic for a split second then they grab fine.
