I picked up my '99 9-3 5speed 5 door at 57'000 miles. It now has 65'000. I had to do the major servicing at 60'000 which cost me ~$500 in the US. I personally would take a SAAB over a volvo because of the sportier feel. I think the 5 door is a lot more practical than the 3 door and it looks just as good. I havent had mine for very many miles, but being a high mileage car, I havent had any problems so far. The only thing I can think of is occasionally the display for the cd-player loses a few lines... but that is not permanent. The other thing is there is a lot of torque steer that you will feel if you ever step on the pedal from a stand still. I am very happy though with my saab so far though. This is my first and would definitely buy another after this, though I would prefer it to be RWD or 4WD.
