Sorry if this is a double post. Just FYI to note that I suspected my new-to-me 99 9-3 was low on boost, and therefore power. The pressure guage was barely going to halfway. From reading the posts on the stock by-pass valve diaphram possibly leaking I checked it with a vacuum pump and it held. I considered the piston-type billet valves, Forge, etc., but saw Swedish Dynamics in CT offering a "Bosch high pressure BPV" for $49.95 (http://www.saabperformanceparts.com). For that price I thought it would be worth a try and see if it would make a difference. I'd say it made a 10-20 HP difference. The mpg dropped a bit too, so the computer is responding to the greater air flow with more fuel. I can only conclude that even though the OEM valve could hold vacuum, it could not hold the boost. Something to think about. The Bosch valve will probably not last as long as the piston type, but for now I don't think the performance would be any greater.
