Bought my 99 conv. at Zumbach and I highly recommend them, though they seem to have some naysayers on this board. Leon was my sales rep -- he played no games, was knowledgable about the cars, was professional and courteous, and they stood behind the vehicles they sell.
When I mentioned after the sale that I wasn't entirely happy with the condition of the two front tires after getting a look at them off the car, they replaced them with two new Michelins, no questions asked.
I went to just about every dealer east of the city. Zumbach and North Shore are the best. I also found that there were not a lot of 1999 SEs around; they are really hard to find for some reason. When I did find them, the increase in price over the base was almost identical to what the SE option cost new, which is surprising, but good for '99 SE owners.
If you park your car in a garage, the memory seating in the SE is a gift from heaven. If you get the HOT engine, that's a big plus as well. Zumbach is somewhat negotiable, I found their prices to be the least expensive in the tri-state area (I'm not kidding), and their cars to be in the best condition.
Other pre-purchase inspection items: check electrical (mirrors, fan switches), get a chance to open it up on the West Side Highway (always fun), check alignment, etc. These are the items that I red flagged most often on the search for my 93. Also check saabusa.com's certified car finder for a quick price compairson. Good luck.
