I disagree completely with you.
My children drive Saabs and don't go 150mph, they appreciate the vehicles they drive, and they don't get ruined. Period.
It's about time people stop thinking of teenagers as stupid and irresponsible as a whole. There are plenty of responsible teens who can handle a new car, including a Saab.
To KenD:
I say if you have a loving grandmother who is willing to foot the bill, you might as well put your son in an incredibly safe and reliable car. But due to his driving history, simply put down a lot of ground rules. Like just driving to and from school for a while, etc. I don't want to preach, you are an adult and know how to raise your son.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
