I just picked up an '01 9-3SE, 5sp. When hot, after driving on highway or in traffic for a while, the clutch will make a screeching sound when letting the clutch out in first and second gear. It only happens under light load moving slowly. It does not sound like throw-out bearing, no difference in sound with clutch in or out. I have been told that the asbestos free clutch plates have had a problem with glazing. Anyone else have or hear of this and any good non-invasive ways of busting the glaze?
