That intake will suck in the hot underhood air so power output will suffer, especially during hot weather. I know this because I used to have a SPG9 intake which was essentially the same thing. If you make an enclosure to keep it separated from the engine bay, then it will work better power wise, and you'll get the benefit of the turbo sound as well as the bypass valve sound.
I wound up with the BSR Optiflow intake which has a separation built in. I then took it one step further by adding foam pipe insulation and silicone sealant to have the air filter completely sealed off from the rest of the engine compartment to maximise the cold air intake. You can see my car on the turboteameurope website. There is a picture of the engine bay as well. The picture is pre-sealant though. The intake can be seen on BSR's or engstrom's sites.
