wooden shift knobs

I am considering switching out the shift knob on a new 9-3 convertible with a wooden one, but I am getting conflicting information on what fits the 9-3. There are two types in the catalog -- one with some sort of black insert or cap on the top (apparently the only one that fits the 900) and one without the insert/cap. The dealer thinks the one with the insert/cap is the only one available for the 9-3. Saab's on-line catalog seems to suggest otherwise, but I have not been able to get the folks there to answer my question. Does anyone know whether I have a choice between the two types?
