Have done fuel filter replacement on a 9-5. Will want an oil drain pan or other large receptacle with you to catch the dripping gasoline. I did not do anything special to depressurize the fuel line or deactivate the fuel pump prior to doing the job - encountered no problems.
Check to see if your filter is covered by a plastic stone shield like it is on the 9-5. Shield is held in place by a looooong nylon wire tie. Will want to have a replacement wire tie on hand or use a bent paper clip to gently release the latching tang on old one for re-use.
One final warning. The Banjo fitting bolts are both hollow and crossdrilled. Excessive force could quickly become expensive.
