Hi,
Everyone and I mean EVERYONE thinks that 9-3SS is a GREAT car. Could
Scania have payed the 1/2 billion dollars of development and other fixed
costs related to 9-3SS? I don't think so.
Saab needs to give something back to parent company. A self-sustaining
symbiotic relationship is required for a long-term successful relationship
between Saab and GM.
Will GM make back its investment? In the long run probably it will.
In the short-run, it is a good idea to give back to GM something other
than profits.
In this case it is technical expertise. It is a shame that Saab
technology has NOT been more widely used in the rest of GM. Why isn't
Cadillac using Saab seats? That would seem to be a no-brainer to me.
thanks
Jae
