Hi,
We at Saab TDC unfotunately can not spend all our time answering everybody's questions. This bulletin board is occasionally searched by TDC for "big issues" where our advice can be used to put someone back on track so to speak. We all know about vicious circles and we try our best to stop these before they get out of control. This is why we helped "trident"
As a good will, we will however answer your questions on this occasion:
The future plans for the Infotainment system can not be disclosed due to confidentiality. As always we can only refer you to your dealer for the latest released information. Obviously we are always working to improve the system and add feature, but we can not disclose this information at this point in time.
Ditto for the software update for the radio sound.
As for whether bluetooth and GPS Navigation can be added to the vehicle, the Saab bluetooth system and Saab navigation system can technically be added to a US spec car. However, these systems are not yet currently available although they will be in the near future. Upgrading of the existing system MUST be done by a Saab dealer, as it is necssary to use special tools to tell the other components on the network about the new components that have been added. This can NOT be done by anybody else. Please use "Trident"'s experiences as an example of what NOT to do...
Again, while we say it is technically possible, we at Saab TDC are unsure whether this update will be taken on by a Dealer. Our job is to design and implement the systems you have. We have little input on how the marketing department decides to offer these features. The ability to update your car in the future, lies not in our hands...
Regards,
James.
