Now that I've upgraded my stereo, I've become more aware of unpleasant noises in the cockpit. (No, this has nothing to do with my taste in music!). Basically, I don't mind turbo whine, intake whistle, or a (as yet hypothetical) rumble from a sport exhaust. I do want to reduce rolling tire and wind noise. I realize I'm probably taking two steps forward and then two back in this arena, just by slapping on more aggressive suspension and engine mods, and then trying to address the added noise, but I'd like to think I can have it both ways.
Anyone use any aftermarket sound deadener? If so, what brand? Where are the key areas in the 9-3? How hard is this as a diy? What do I need to do to keep the side airbags/sensors clear of interference in my 1999 9-3?
And, of course, how much do materials cost? labor? time to diy instead of having it done?
