Concerning dealers around Boston I would go in this order:
Charles River SAAB in Watertown
Shaw SAAB in Hingham
SAAB Nashua North in Merrimack NH
I've bought cars from Shaw and Nashua North. Both very good experiences but for some reason I just feel I can trust Shaw more. Don't know why....but Nashua North has a HUGE selection of used cars. Shaw typically only has around 10-12 at a time.
The purchase at Nashua North is unbeleivably easy. Pick out your car on the website, go and sign some papers and you are out the door in under 2 hours. Amazing.
Never even been to Charles River but they are the oldest dealer in the country and have a good reputation.
All three of these sell just SAAB. I would stay away from the other dealers around here that sell bunches of different makes.
I bought a 2000 SE at Nashua North. Great car. No problems so far since buying in January. Mechanically these cars are pretty darn good. They are a very refined version of the new generation 900 that was made from '94-'98. I spend a fair amount of time around this site and don't see too many complaints about 2000's here as far as trouble goes.
Look into the certified pre owned program or purchase another extended warranty that makes sense at the dealer if you want that peace of mind.
Happy hunting!
Todd
