Okay, first off...I agree, Saab is a little behind the competition when it comes to in-car navigation systems. OnStar has done little to help in this regard (in my opinion anyway), since people tend to find it expensive and not entirely accurate. I dislike the navigation portion of OnStar because I essentially have to write down the directions as I drive, otherwise I will forget entirely. Anyhow, that's an aside...
How many people would actually spend the several thousand to get in-car navigation? 2 years ago, when I was shopping around, I inquired about the availability of nav at Audi, Volvo, MB and BMW dealerships. I could have had one of their systems, but I would have to go at it blind. It's not a terribly popular option where I am, so 1) I couldn't try it before ordering the car with it, and 2) that would make the car special order, thereby adding to the wait time. The point of this is that although those cars offer GPS, very few buyers opt for their systems.
Catch 22 here...complain that it isn't offered, but then where is Saab's incentive to rush development for a handful of buyers when they can instead focus on development of the convertible and other forthcoming variants?
Cheers,
Mark
