I have posted a few messages on the board about the transmission in my 99 Viggen hopping out of second. Well, just a week ago, the car would no longer go in or out of gear. I bled the master and slave for the clutch with no avail. Brought the car to the dealer (which I hate doing), they decided that is was the master, good for me right? No need to pull the tranny. But no, replace that, $400.00 and still no clutch. So now they pull the tranny, tell me that the clutch, slave (what I thought the problem child was in the first place) and throw-out need replacing, ooh, plus we need to resurface the flywheel. I have no car and it is already in pieces, so go ahead, bend me over and have a great time doing it. The end result is that I have a very fast, great car, that is still hopping out of second. I guess it is just dumb luck that I didn't bring the car in to check the tranny, before the slave bit the dust. All I have to say to you Viggen owners, I love my car as I am sure you do but make sure to get off the clutch ASAP when applying the power in these cars, you do not want the bill that I just got.. $2850.00 all said and done. The car is going back in to have the tranny replace for a bad second gear syncro in about a week. Maybe I should drive easier on the car!! No, that would be no fun.. Good luck.
