WHOOPS, spooled the Viggen a bit too high

Reached top of onramp behind some slow vehicles, looked left and saw opportunity to quickly sneak into faster lane. Car coming up fast, so I floored it and held on. Took off like a shot, all going well, and suddenly blaaahhhhhh... she just went flat on me. Oops. Immediately realized I must have hit the rev limiter (still in 2nd gear). Was able to nail it into 3rd and shoot ahead before car overtook me. But what a crappy feeling. Hate to over-rev a car and this was a first for me! I guess that's why the car has a rev limiter, to protect it from the occasional idiotic moment. No idea how high I had spooled, it was watching the road vs the tach. Anyone know where the Viggen hits the wall?
