Interesting ideas. I have often thought about some type of vents on the fenders. I would think hood venting would present a very big challenge. Problem is, heat flows best up and water flows best down. It would be very bad to shock cool or wet the wrong part (engine or electrical) at the wrong time with a large intake of water. Even in a hot, dry climate the occasional monsoon downpours could ruin a hot engine if water got to it. I live in a very wet climate so rain and splashing from other vehicles would be a constant concern.

Surely, there are some engineers on this board who could design a workable ducting solution for engine bay heat dissapation. Perhaps something on the order of cowl flaps on aircraft?? Sounds like a fun experiment.
