Or the guy screwed up & is trying to pin it on Saab. I'm guessing maybe something like this happened: he ran semi-syn (or non-syn) for 7k mi intervals & got 1 qt low each time, initiating sludge from the remaining oil; then ran it for 13k mi on the last interval & let it get 2 qts low & it seized. There are just too many holes & unanswered questions in his story. He's posting from some type of group-user address, hasn't given his name, hasn't responded to any requests for add'l info, & hasn't even posted in the past 24hrs. If YOU had a blown engine & were looking for, "Anyone able to comment or have engine problems related to oil," would you hang it up after only 4&1/2 hrs of frenzied response?
But maybe he'll come back with proof & I'll be all embarrassed & everything ... :-0
